History

VDL Kunststoffen was founded in 1965 in Waalre by Messrs Sanders and van Dommelen as a PVC dipping company called ‘SADO Plastics’. The high demand for injection moulding products soon resulted in an expansion of services. Due to this growth, the company moved from Waalre to Heeze in 1974.

Since 1989, VDL Kunststoffen has been part of the VDL Groep. The group offers its subsidiaries the opportunity to make use of each other's knowledge, expertise and technological developments in the field of metal and plastics machining, as well as surface treatments and assembly techniques. The VDL Groep also ensures a strong financial position for its subsidiaries.

Further growth meant that the new premises in Heeze were too small and VDL Kunststoffen subsequently moved to a new location, again in Heeze.

In the year 2000, a large new factory hall was added with an advanced raw material transport system. In the years that followed, growth continued strongly and most of the production hall was automated. The machinery was expanded to 36 injection moulding machines, until this location too proved too small.

Expanding in Heeze was no longer possible, so it was decided to build a new factory in Nederweert. The grand opening took place on 15 June 2018. This new, very modern building is fully equipped as well as the latest technology in terms of production and energy saving. The factory has a production area of over 14,000 m².

There are now 44 injection-moulding machines and plenty of room for future expansions.
